Over the past several years, independent mapping efforts in Idaho, Nevada and Utah, covering USDA Forest Service Intermountain Region 4, were completed by the Utah Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit and the RS/GIS Laboratory at Utah State University.

Landscape characterization methods of the two groups were standardized to allow edge-matching of the completed projects into a single intermountain region file. This dataset is available in CD-ROM or pdf downloadable file format from the Data Directory. A more detailed report will be available on completion at the Archive.
