The bugs interact with seagrass by eating it. They also reproduce once they eat certain amount of grass, and die once they lived their longevity. Variables such as how many bugs to start with, how long they live or how many new bugs they reproduce can be changed through the probe.
We also experimentally added to the bug objects the
ability of modifying the landscape, for example, changing the water depth
assuming they are digging holes when they spawn. Changed landscape can
be written into output files in the same format as the input GIS data layers,
and be seen in GIS programs.
