ArcView 3.x Extensions
Sorry, but these extensions do not work with ArcGIS.

Important: I have run into problems with some of these extensions on Windows XP when the ArcView 3.x Windows XP patch was not installed. The patch is available from ESRI. Another common problem is spaces in filenames. I think it's a good idea to change your TEMP environment variable on Windows to something that has no spaces (like c:\temp).

Kappa Tool

This tool computes Cohen's Kappa, creates an error matrix, and creates a shapefile showing which reference sites were classified correctly. A button with a "K" on it is added to the View button bar when the extension is loaded. This extension requires Spatial Analyst.

Link views

Second place winner in the ArcView/Avenue category of the User Applications Fair at the ESRI International User Conference 2003!

This extension allows two views to be linked geographically. A crosshair appears centered at the same geographic coordinates in both views, and when you move the crosshair in one view, it also moves in the other. The two views also pan and zoom together.

Fix Integer Grid

Occasionally integer grids get created that have values that are too big for Spatial Analyst to handle, and you get an error message that says Integer Lookup Table range exceed 1000000. StatMod has the potential to create grids like this. If you run into one, you can use this extension to create a new grid that uses values that Spatial Analyst can understand, but keeps the original values in the attribute table so you can still look at them and use them for display purposes. This extension adds a button with a bug on it to the View button bar.

StatMod Zone

First place winner in the ArcView/Avenue category of the User Applications Fair at the ESRI International User Conference 2003!

StatMod Zone is an ArcView extension that helps users create logistic regression and CART models. StatMod Zone is an improved version of StatMod. The original StatMod used point locations for the training sites; StatMod Zone also allows polygons to be used for CART models. In addition, several bugs that were present in the original have been fixed in this version.

StatMod Zone requires Spatial Analyst. It also requires access to SAS/STAT software for logistic regression models and S-PLUS for CART models.

StatMod Zone also contains utilities for resampling and combining data sets, data extraction, random sampling, and Kappa analysis.

StatMod Zone, UNIX Version

This version hasn't been updated to include all of the features currently included in the Windows version, nor have all the known bugs been fixed (although I think they're pretty minor).

Feature Selection

This tool allows random features in a shapefile or coverage to be selected. A new field containing 1's and 0's is created in the theme's table; 1's denote selected features. Highlight a theme in the view's table of contents and click on the black diamond on the button bar. You can also stratify the selection based on an existing field.

Lattice Sample

This utility will sample regularly spaced points within the boundaries of a theme. You choose the spacing.

Favorites

This adds a Favorites menu to the project menu bar. You can easily add frequently used projects to this pull-down menu so that you can open them with the click of a button.

Fuzzy Classification

This extension was used on the SWReGAP project for fuzzy classification. See the SWReGAP Map Quality Assessment page.
