Topographic Relative Moisture Index

This coverage is a function of slope, aspect, and flow accumulation as defined from a 10m resolution digital elevation model. The model is derived from methodology developed by Parker, A.J. 1982. (The topographic relative moisture index: An approach to soil-moisture assessment in mountain terrain. Physical Geography 3: 160-168.) and modified and coded into an Arc/Info Macro Language script by John Lowry at the RS/GIS Laboratory. The values range from 1 to 27 with 1 being the dryest and 27 wettest.

A document describing the process can be found here.
